Come and join us for a leisurely day in the city. How about coffee in Southbank, a roam around the streets or visit the Sunday markets and then join the tour to see the Costume Exhibition presented by The Arts Centre Melbourne.
Get behind-the-scenes access to Australia’s largest performing arts collection located at the Hamer Hall.
The collection has been in development since the 1970s, spanning circus, dance, music, opera and theatre.
Led by a tour guide, this unique experience will shed light on how the curatorial team work closely with artists and art organisations.
We will learn about how the costumes are stored, exhibited as well as techniques used for conservation and preserved.
For those interested we meet at Sunbury Station at 10.00am to catch the 10.16am train to Flinders Street.
From there we will go to Southbank to have coffee and cake or something more nutritional.
We can then roam through the markets or perhaps look the at the wall art in Degraves Street before we meet to join the tour meeting in the foyer of Hamer Hall 12.30pm.
There is a later train at 10.56am from Sunbury Station for those preferring to just attend the costume exhibition.
