After the success of the previous visit to the Vic Metro Tunnel Headquarters at 125 Swanston Street we have decided to accept their invite once more, partially to accommodate those who were still on the waiting list after our first visit.
The Metro Tunnel is the biggest public transport project in Victorian history, built to link the Sunbury, Pakenham and Cranbourne rail lines. At the 60 minutes workshop you will gain an understanding as to the enormity of the project.
We will be told about the project, be provided information on the new stations, trains systems and new technological innovations.
Also through the immersive panoramic theatre you can have access to interactive displays with virtual reality experiences.
Following the presentation you can explore the centre at your leisure and/or even take a short walk to the site of new Town Hall station to discover the biggest archaeological dig in Victoria’s history with information about its construction and engineering feats.
For those interested we could go to the ever popular
P.J. O’Brien’s Irish Pub in Southbank.
Also after lunch why not visit the free Street Art “The Outsiders” exhibition at corner Hosier and Flinders Lanes. It includes over 100 works from internationally acclaimed artists such as Banksy as well as our more locally known artists Rone, Adnate and may more.
