Today we are joined by Marg Joiner who is the Volunteers Program Manager for Zoos Victoria which has over 800 volunteers spread over three sites, Melbourne Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary, and Werribee Open Range Zoo.
Whilst Marg’s forte is working with volunteers today she will talk about the important role the Zoo’s volunteers play in animal wellbeing, animal research undertaken at the Zoos, together with the daily tasks that make the Zoos so successful.
Prior to working with The Melbourne Zoos Marg worked in the Department of Veteran Affairs establishing a network of 45 clubs throughout Victoria with the aim of decreasing isolation.
This will be the third time that we have sought Marg has a Guest Speaker but COVID19 got in the way. Please come and join with us to hear about the valuable work of the Volunteers at Zoos Victoria.
**Note this event is only open to those members who have been fully vaccinated as this is a requirement of not only U3A Sunbury but also The Sunbury Social Club where the event will be taking place.
