Come with us to visit the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, one of the oldest and world renowned medical research institutions. The Institute is located close to our large Melbourne Hospitals and employs over 850 medical science researchers. Since its inception in 1915, the Institute has made discoveries and treatments in auto–immune, all forms of cancer, neuro–degenerative and age related diseases.
We will catch a 9:40am train from Sunbury, getting out at North Melbourne where we will take the 401 shuttle bus to The Royal Melbourne Hospital. The Walter and Eliza Hall is less than a 5 minute walk from there.
After morning tea we will hear from the medical and scientific teams before being taken on tour throughout the Institute laboratories; finally we will take a walk through their historical parade of discoveries and treatments
The tour will start at 11.00 am after which, before returning to Sunbury, and after our return to North Melbourne, we will be lunching at Sassy Restaurant and Bar, just next to the station
If you are interested in coming on the outing could you please register on U–MAS or contact Lesley on 8746 9066
