February 18th – Outing – State Library of Victoria, Melbourne

Come and join us to see some of the wonderful free exhibitions that are available through our State Library of Victoria – a busy but relaxing day to share with friends.

Meet at Sunbury train station at 8.45am to catch the 9.02 train, arriving in Melbourne Central at 9.45am.

We will have time for coffee before meeting Isabel, our guide, in the Hansen Hall of the State Library of Victoria. Lunch will be from 12.00 noon until 2.00pm at Father’s Kitchen, just across the road from the Library. Cost of the early week menu is $15.00 and includes beer, wine or soft drink – menu to follow.

The Changing Face of Victoria – 10.30–11.30am
Discover some of the people and places that have shaped Victoria. Encounter explorers,  gain an insight into life on the goldfields and explore life in Victoria in the 20th and 21st centuries. slv.vic.gov.au/whats-on/changing-face-victoria

The  World of the Book – 2.30–3.30pm. Tour – free.
Explore a world of ideas  in this one-–of–a–kind exhibition showcasing the history of book design, production and illustration from the early Middle East to today. See rare medieval manuscripts and sacred text, magnificent natural history and botanical illustrations, stunning artist books and fine press editions.   slv.vic.gov.au/whats-on/world-book
