Events & Outings

We organise lots of fun and interesting events for our members including Guest Speakers, Outings, Movies, Theatre, Quiz and Dining Out. Come and join us! Email us at events@u3asunbury.org.au

Guest Speakers are presented at the Sunbury Football Club (off Riddells Road, behind Clarkes Oval) on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of the month. Start time is 10:00am to 11.45am with a break for morning tea. These are free events and all Sunbury U3A members are welcome. If you know of a good speaker, or you would be interested in a particular topic, could you please inform Renate, Lesley, Louise or Marlene.

Outings are organised for the 4th Thursday of the month or on arrangement. Outings are at member’s own expense and require confirmation of attendance.

Dining Out – 2nd Friday of the month during school terms or on arrangement. All members are welcome. A casual social group that shares a friendly meal at various restaurants in Sunbury and surrounds. Most events are in the evenings, but we may occasionally arrange a lunch. All members welcome.

Arts Outings – In the months where there is a 5th Friday, or by arrangement, we will be organising an outing focussing on the Arts. Outings are at member’s own expense. Everyone is welcome.

Cinemas and Theatre – We also arrange many outings to various cinemas and theatres to see fabulous films and stage productions. These outings are at member’s own expense. Come along and join us!

Movies or a Quiz are presented at the Sunbury Football Club (movies in the Boardroom) on the 5th Thursday of the month (when they occur) or by arrangement. Start time is 10:00am. These are free events and all Sunbury U3A members are welcome. Members are also welcome to make suggestions for any movie they would like to see shown at these sessions – any movie, any genre, name it and we will try to get it!

Special Events for our members are also arranged throughout the year.

Enrolling for Outings or Events – You can enrol in outings or events through your Member Login. Select and add the outing to your list of courses and events. If there is a cost involved, an invoice may be generated, which can then be paid via EFT or by cash to any of the Events organisers, group leaders or committee members.

Donations for Care Works – Non-perishable food items would be greatly appreciated on the first Thursday of each month.

Julie McKay from Enable Social Enterprise, who was our guest speaker on 6th June, with her van full of our electronic and IT equipment ready for recycling. We thank Julie and the Enable team for taking so much of our e-waste for recycling while contributing many opportunities for less fortunate people to practise work skills in the growing IT and recycling industries. https://www.enableaustralia.org.au/
Thanks to everyone who helped and a very special thank you to Marlene for organising a very worthwhile project.
