We are off to Port Melbourne Via train to Flinders Street then Light rail down to Beacon Cove, Port Melbourne.
From there we have 2 choices to head either left along the bay and then explore the eateries along Bay Street or head right (my preference) at the bay and explore Princes Pier and light house then continue along the bay past Sandridge beach.
We are heading to Sandridge Lookout which is at the end of the wharf on the Webb Trail, about a 30-minute walk/45-minute stroll.
From the top of the lookout there is a get a great view over the bay back towards the city and also great views of the container ships as they come into bay.
Along our walk we will pass by the Maritime Cove playground which makes me wish I was a kid again!
There is a nice little cafe halfway along the trail, which can keep us going in coffee and fish and chips.
Direction will depend on the heat!
Probably a 9ish start and don’t forget your Myki cards, hat, water-bottles, sunscreen and comfy shoes, money for coffee etc, maybe a small towel if you’re going to paddle in the water…..hey why not a bigger towel if you’re going to swim!
