Philosophy means “Love of Wisdom”. In an attempt to answer a number of questions that humanity has been contemplating since they first started to reason.
Questions such as “What is the meaning of life and existence?”, “What is ethics and how should I live?”.
The group will learn about and discuss the ideas of some of the world’s greatest philosophers and their attempts to answer these and other questions.
The format of the session will usually be watching a video or listening to a podcast on a philosopher, an idea or a topic.
This will be followed by a discussion of the issues raised in the video. Members of the group will be invited to participate in the discussion if they wish.
The aim is to present ideas that are interesting, informative and that may challenge the participants current thinking.
Participants are also welcome to bring any ideas for topics of interest to the first session.
