Established in 2003,Angel Flight Australia is a charity which co-ordinates non-emergency flights to assist country people to access specialist medical treatment that would otherwise not be available due to vast distances and high travel costs.
Angel Flight volunteer pilots are not medically trained and do not carry aero medical staff or medical equipment.
Angel Flight Australia has only three administrative staff but 700 volunteers. Come and meet Rex who has worked as a volunteer for Angel Flight for 5 years.
Rex has been flying for 63 years, 58 of those were as a commercial pilot and his experience covers gliding, fixed wing aircraft including the Airbus, and helicopters.
One of his career highlights has been operating an Airbus to Antarctica between 2007 and 2017.
Rex also gave a talk to Sunbury U3A in 2003 about his solo flight around Australia in a helicopter.

***Attendance at Guest Speakers requires that members must be fully vaccinated. Therefore new members of U3A Sunbury must bring their vaccination certificate to be sighted at this event, unless it has been sighted and registered previously.
