Allan Porter will be our Guest Speaker today. Alan who has been a long term member of U3A Sunbury and a past President has had a career of 32 years in the Victorian Police Force.
Allan talks with us of his time as a team member of the Homicide Squad where he attended numerous homicides and suspicious deaths and in particular his role in the pursuit of the notorious backyard abortionist.
Allan continued his career through the ranks to Chief Superintendent, in charge of a large operational command in north and north western Melbourne until he transferred to one of the Federal agencies in 1990.He later retired in 1999 at the age of 63 years.
Allan invites questions and audience participation but cautions that he has been retired for many years and his knowledge of current police policy is limited.
