John Marsden is a well known local writer and educator and the founder of the two local schools, Candlebark in Romsey and Alice Miller in Macedon. John’s talk will be about how, over the past twenty years, with social upheaval from every source, there has been a dramatic change in the way families function. This in turn has changed the way of education and the expectations up the schools.

Whilst there has been some changes in education John believes that to meet the needs of children for a better future, there needs to be a huge changes in the educational system.

Come and listen to John who is a recognised educator not only through years of experience but though the publishing of social and educational text too. In 2018 he wrote The Art of Growing Up, a non-fiction work about education and child rearing and this year it has been followed by Take Risks which proposes new directions for schools and parents.
