Come and meet our Australian Labour Party member, Sam Rae, who is a Member for the House of Representatives, for the seat of Hawke, which was established in the 2022 election.
The seat takes in partial areas of the Hume City Council, Melton City Council and Moorabool Shire Council.
Prior to his election in 2022, Sam was the Advisor and Electorate Officer for the Hon Senator Stephen Conroy and from 2009 – 2015 he was also Director of Research and Tactics for the Victorian Labour from 2015- 2016.
The seat of Hawke, with its extrapolating rate of growth has seen infrastructure under increased pressure, which Sam is keen to address. Housing affordability issues with insufficient public and social housing, improved education facilities and an improvement to healthcare are what is urgently needed in the area, and Sam wants to meet these challenges and build stronger communities to assist his constituents.
Sam is married with three young children.
