Come and join us for our first coach tour this year visiting the goldfield areas of Castlemaine and Chewton.
We meet at Sunbury station at 9.15am to catch the 9.35am V/Line train to Castlemaine where we are met by the coach and taken to The Mill complex. Here you can wander through the complex, looking at vintage clothes and collectables.
Or perhaps, buy cards, cheeses, bread, chocolates, small goods or ice creams from speciality shops.
Why not afterwards, have coffee and cake at Das Kaafehaus or visit the beautiful Castlemaine Botanical Gardens just across the road. Then at 11.30am the coach will take us on an hour highlight tour of the area, visiting the historic gold town of Chewton.
At 12.30pm we will be dropped off at Buda and authentic goldfields, villa house and garden where we have a private tour of the house and garden with lunch.
Buda is named after its Hungarian owner, Ernest Leviny. It has been the home of the creative Leviny family for over 118 years and houses their significant intact collection of furniture, art works and personal belongings.
The heritage garden is set on 3 acres, featuring original plantings and structures, including a bird aviary, tennis pavilion and grape pergola together with garden ornaments created by the Leviny family. You can also purchase plants from the Buda, garden nursery.
Lunch, which is in the garden room, consists of roast chicken, potato and green garden salad with soft drink, tea or coffee and with a range of sweets with your beverage such as Turkish delight, mini jam tarts or continental biscuits. A vegetarian option is available upon request.
The cost is $30.00 which includes lunch and the house and garden tours.
At 3.15pm at we will be picked up by the coach and taken to Castlemaine station to catch the V/Line arriving back to Sunbury at approximately 5.00pm.

**Please note the coach tour of Castlemaine and district, the visit to The Mill Complex and Buda House and Garden Tour with lunch costs $50.00 each, but if we have more than 30 members joining us the cost of the coach will be reduced and a refund of monies will be available on the day.
