Catherine McDonald will be speaking about the history of public parks and their place in Victorian times.
The development of public parks coincided with the Industrial Revolution and the destruction of rural land. They were often financed by industrialists who adopted an ethos that associated health and wealth through contact with fresh air and parkland.
Come along to hear how the HV McKay Gardens in Sunshine are one such example.
Attendance at Guest Speakers requires that members must be fully vaccinated.
Therefore new members of U3A Sunbury must bring their vaccination certificate to be sighted at this event, unless it has been sighted and registered previously.
