Terry Laidler’s presentation will focus on his position as chairman for the governing board of the Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing.
The establishment of this centre being a key recommendation of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System.
The planned outcome of the project is a purpose-built facility providing treatment, care and support to adults. It will include cutting-edge research and, importantly, will serve as an avenue for reform in the entire mental health sector. Terry will give us an insight into his work and bring us up to date with developments.

Terry has an extensive experience as a psychologist with an emphasis in forensic areas of practice.
He is well known for his work in a wide variety of organisations and projects such as the National Campaign Against Drug Abuse, has chaired the Victorian Road Safety Co-ordinating Council, was a member of the Victoria Police Ethical Standards Consultative Committee and the Windana Society. Before his career in radio as a presenter of the Evening Program etc. from 1990’s onward, Terry was a policy advisor to the Victorian Health Department on health services to older people.
Terry is a highly knowledgeable and well-informed practitioner and this promises to be an excellent opportunity to extend our knowledge about the mental health system.

Come along and meet Terry – and bring lots of questions!
