Today Christine Heyes will be our Guest Speaker from Stroke Safe which is an outreach service of The Stroke Foundation.

Guest Speakers from Stroke Safe have either had or may be close to someone who has experienced a stroke.
Did you know that strokes are one of Australia’s biggest killers and leading cause of disability amongst adults, with 27,000 new or recurring strokes each year.

Despite public misperceptions there are proven treatments for stroke prevention and recovery, with 80% of strokes being preventable.

Christine will provide information that can be life-saving:

• What a stroke is and the different types of strokes
• How to recognise the signs of stroke
• What to do if someone is having a stroke
• How to prevent a stroke.

This is important information that everyone should know.
