Number of weeks: 3

Our latest module for Science for the Curious is called Physiotherapy and Arthritis. We are lucky to have a very well-qualified physiotherapist in our club who is willing to share her experiences. Anne Forbes qualified as a physiotherapist at the Royal London Hospital. She worked in England at various hospitals and private practices in Mayfair. After emigrating to New Zealand, she worked in Hamilton for eight years. She then emigrated again, this time to Australia, and worked at Broadmeadows Community Health Centre and later various private practices in North Melbourne, Kyneton and Kilmore.
The course will be a short one: only three weeks. Anne will guide us through the principles and practices of physiotherapy, describing different types of arthritis, our musculoskeletal system and how we use physiotherapy (at home and in the treatment centre) to manage arthritis in particular pain management. I am sure for us as an ageing group in the population we all are feeling those aches and twinges, and we will be able to better understand them and look after ourselves after doing this course. It will be held at Dulap Wilim Hub on Mondays from 2-3pm, starting July 12th.
As usual our Science for the Curious modules do not require any previous knowledge and will be very interactive with lots of time for questions.
Hope to see you there!
